In the past few weeks, I’ve tried to identify some of the pix that I have that I think are worth showing so they’re displayed in thumbnail format here.

Yosemite Valley is amazing…overpowering. I’ll never forget the first time that I saw “the valley”. In addition to the sheer size of the valley, there are a huge number of famous sites to see. The shot below was taken from Glacier Point which is less than an hour’s drive from the floor of the valley and worth every minute of the drive. There is nothing that can prepare you for the vista — the field of view is over 180° so what you’re seeing here is about ¼ of the actual view and it will fill your entire view.

You simply have to get to Glacier Point!

The half dome shape rock to the left of center is “Half Dome” while the falls to the right of center are Vernal Falls and, further back, Nevada Falls. (M, L, XL)

Some of the beauty in California is not quite as famous. This interesting shot is from a geocaching trip and is located about 20 minutes from Placerville, CA.

I just happened to see the scene and capture it. (M, L, XL)
